Since 2009, CCASS has been a National Instruments certified LabVIEW Academy. The head of the CCASS Prof. Dr. Markus Haid has many years of relevant industrial experience in the field of Lab VIEW application development. As a Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD), the LabVIEW Academy offers a variety of training for students, colleagues, and employees in this area. In addition, Haid offers a compulsory optional subject in the Bachelor and in the Remote Master's degree program of the Department of Electrical and Information Technology.

LabVIEW as standard
In the field of automated metrology, LabVIEW has proven to be a leading engineering and hardware and software platform. LabVIEW is a universal environment for setting up and performing a variety of metrology tasks, as well as modeling them in all areas of technology and engineering. LabVIEW has evolved into an industry standard for some time now, and is widely used in the industry. Accordingly, LabVIEW knowledge is expected in many job advertisements for graduates across disciplines and disciplines.

Spring- and Summer-Schools
In the lecture-free times, several 5-day seminars are offered at the University of Darmstadt. With this offer, students can qualify to become a Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD), which promises broader employment opportunities, as many companies expect this knowledge.

LabVIEW as elective course
Students of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology can also take LabVIEW as a compulsory optional subject. The elective course is equivalent to 2.5 CP and includes two SWS. The fabric scope is the same as the LabVIEW Core 1 course. To qualify as a Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD), the LabVIEW Core 2 course is required.

As part of the LabVIEW Academy, you can also take the Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer exam (CLAD) directly at the college for free. Visiting the course entitles you to take part in the exam.


LabVIEW as common platform
LabVIEW is being developed at the University of Darmstadt in cooperation with the Departments of Chemistry and Biotechnology (CuB), Electrical and Information Technology (EIT), Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MN) and Mechanical Engineering and Plastics Technology (MK) as a common platform for the advancement of students for measurement data processing. In this way, students of all disciplines receive the opportunity to study LabVIEW in an application-oriented way. Most notably, LabVIEW acts as a common platform. 
 
LabVIEW for Rapid Prototyping
The advantage of LabVIEW lies in the simple programming of technically complex structures. Thus, various image processing algorithms can be combined with each other via drag-and-drop and configured in a straightforward way in order, to realize OCR character recognition for example. With a plethora of additional plug-ins, LabVIEW can simulate prototypes very quickly.
